Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) April 16, 2015 -- The Pistoia Alliance, a global, not-for-profit alliance of life science organizations that work together to lower barriers to innovation in R&D, has welcomed a number of new members during the first quarter of 2015. This phase of expansion breaks new ground for the Pistoia Alliance as the membership base now includes diagnostic laboratories for the first time.
The new members include BioReference Laboratories, Jeeva Informatics Solutions, gritsystems A/S, and Lab-Consultation Co. Ltd.
With the addition of these new members, the Pistoia Alliance’s membership broadens into the larger healthcare ecosystem. This provides a perfect complement to the current membership that includes most of the world’s largest pharma companies along with many vendors, publishers, and academic groups involved in life science R&D.
Michael Braxenthaler, President of the Pistoia Alliance commented: “It is very exciting to see the membership of the Pistoia Alliance expand into new areas. With many pharma companies increasingly engaging with key data providers, it is vital for the Pistoia Alliance to be linked with these organizations, and only through greater collaboration can we solve the many challenges facing the life sciences industry.”
“We are pleased to join the Pistoia Alliance”, added Joseph F. Donahue, Senior Vice President of BioReference Laboratories. “We are looking forward to working with the other members of the Alliance to drive innovative partnerships that help accelerate medical innovation.”
