PKF O’Connor Davies Announces 2018 Partner Class
NEW YORK (PRWEB) January 18, 2018 -- PKF O’Connor Davies, LLP, the nation's 28th largest accounting and advisory firm, announced today five new Firm partners. Joseph Ali, John Apisa, Alexander Buchholz, Michael Ruggiero and Karen Taylor-Burke were all named as part of the 2018 Partner Class.

Joseph Ali joined the firm in 2005 and specializes in the accounting and tax aspects of exempt organizations, especially private foundations, as well as environmental, arts, educational and membership organizations. He pioneered the Firm’s private foundation CFO/COO services, providing back office operations for large private foundations as well as private operating foundations with large infrastructure projects. Ali is active in industry and civic organizations and is a lecturer and regular author on private foundation and not-for-profit thought leadership. He is located in the Firm’s New York City office.
John Apisa is in the firm’s tax department. He specializes in mid-market businesses and high net worth individuals. John’s main responsibilities include tax planning and tax compliance. He also represents his clients in federal and state tax audits. John is active in civic organizations, such as the Cranford Jaycees and Rotary. He is based in the Firm’s Cranford, NJ, location.
Alexander Buchholz specializes in single audits and internal control/compliance audits. He also teaches at a variety of higher education institutions and is an adjunct professor at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. His areas of expertise include audits of skilled nursing facilities, not-for-profit entities, social service agencies, charter schools, diagnostic and treatment centers, home care service entities, special needs clients, cemeteries, and prepares specialized cost reports as applicable to health care and not-for-profit entities. He is also involved in a number of civic groups and serves on the board of St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children. Buchholz works in the Firm’s New York City office.
Michael Ruggiero brings a wealth of private and public accounting experience to his role as an auditor in industries, including technology, media, manufacturing and professional and business services. He works on multi-national consolidations and group audits, primarily for privately held companies. Ruggiero also services an array of nonprofit organizations, including those that require audits under both Federal and state statues. Ruggiero serves on the board of a Connecticut based nonprofit providing mental health care to children and families. He’s located in the Firm’s Stamford, CT office.
Karen Taylor-Burke serves not-for-profit and commercial clients, including charitable organizations, unions, and voluntary health and welfare organizations as well as the real estate and construction sectors. She specializes in preparing cost certification audits in compliance with NJHMFA and HUD. Karen served as a Trustee with The Foundation to Save the Jersey Shore and serves in other leadership capacities with area charitable organizations. She is located in the Firm’s Livingston, NJ, office.
