Planned National Security Park Rendering Released By The Guess Corporation
Durham, North Carolina (PRWEB) August 29, 2016 -- The Guess Corporation is pleased to release the completed rendering for its planned National Security Park to be built in Greensboro, North Carolina. The park will be a campus of five buildings. Those buildings will consist of: Bioterrorism Research Center, Cybersecurity Research Center, Sustainability Research Center, Energy Research Center and Infectious Disease Research Center to address national security concerns. The Guess Corporation expects to finalize a site and break ground for the park in October of 2016. The park will be built in phases with phase one completed in late 2017. Scott+Cormia designed the park for the company and will provide construction project management. The Guess Corporation is developing the park through its unit, The Guess Development Company, Ltd. and will own the park and lease it to a non-profit organization that will operate the park. The campus will sit on more than 50 acres of land and include adjacent retail, multi-family and office properties. The company is currently accepting proposals from parties that have an interest in co-developing. The campus will consist of five buildings and each building will be five stories with glass exterior. Each building is a pentagon shape and the park will be set in a pentagon.
The National Security Park developed by The Guess Corporation is aimed at creating a permanent forum for the exchange and implementation of ideas that will seek to provide perpetual protection for the freedom, peace, health and prosperity for the citizens of the United States of America. The park will transform security from an institutional objective to a human objective, in which goals are not driven by warfare, but focused on prevention and balancing human rights with security needs. Structured as a university, the park will be governed by a Board of Trustees whose members will be appointed by local, state and national government bodies. A Chancellor, appointed by the Board of Trustees will oversee the park. The park will include operational units: Global Security Institute, Commercialization Group, Intelligence Group, Crisis Group and Supply Group. The park is expected to create 10,000 jobs within five (5) years and billions of dollars in development.
Members of the park will be private sector companies focused on national security. The companies will purchase membership rights that range from $25 million for 10 year membership to $250 million for permanent membership. As members they will work together to develop solutions that will be commercialized and share in the profits generated. The park will also have government and non-profit members that consist of U.S. and international parties that routinely collaborate on global security issues.
