Plastic Ingenuity to Present on Safe Food Packaging Solutions at 2014 Thin Wall Packaging Conference
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 16, 2014 -- This year’s international Thin Wall Conference in Chicago will host a workshop by Michael Shubert, production engineering manager at Plastic Ingenuity, on SQF standards for food packaging solutions.
SQF is a business-driven initiative created with the intention of improving food safety and creating more consistent expectations to ensure food is safe for consumers.
At its core, SQF creates food safety fundamentals that help generate food safety and quality plans. With food safety in place, food processing, handling and packaging companies can improve upon their processes for food packaging.
Many companies, including Plastic Ingenuity, abide by the SQF certification when processing, handling and packaging food products.
Rob Helmke, marketing director for PI, said the company was honored when the coordinators at the Thin Wall Packaging conference invited Schubert to speak.

The conference will also examine other topics related to the plastic packaging industry.
According to Applied Market Information LLC, the organizer of Thin Wall Packaging, the conference focuses on the “applications, technology and materials for cups, tubs, trays and containers, primarily for food applications.”
Presenters will discuss emerging packaging technology, review market trends and explore new developments in the packaging industry, all while developing professional business networks at every step of the plastic packaging production. The conference will also discuss consumer behavior and a shift in interests has created the demand for convenient packaging options that still adhere to strict quality requirements.
The Thin Wall Packaging Conference will be on May 20 and 21 at The Westin Chicago North Shore in Chicago, Ill. Schubert is scheduled to present at 9:40 a.m. on May 21.
