Players in A Better World Closing in on Goal of 1,000,000 Good Deeds
Wayne, PA (PRWEB) December 21, 2015 -- Players in A Better World - the do-good virtual world game on Facebook - have completed 750,000 good deeds so far on their quest to perform one million good deeds for this year’s holiday campaign. When they do so, A Better World will release funds to provide new coats for children in need, through a partnership with Operation Warm. Players now have until the end of January to reach the goal.
The family team behind A Better World will donate funds to national non-profit Operation Warm to provide up to a thousand brand new coats for kids in need.
"We're really happy to be partnering with A Better World this holiday season to provide even more coats for kids in need," said Operation Warm Executive Director Rich Lalley. “Thanks to A Better World, more kids will be happy and warm, and able to get to school with pride on cold winter days.”
A Better World is asking other organizations to join their pledge this holiday season. So far, law firms Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz and Reger Rizzo & Darnall, as well as Philadelphia Main Line fashion boutique Posh Collections, have all joined A Better World in pledging to donate funds to Operation Warm, headquartered in Kennett Square, PA.
“We’re hoping to put as many as a thousand coats on kids in need this winter season. In order to do that, we need more companies and individuals to join us. We also want to encourage people to do more good deeds in A Better World. We’re off to a great start, but we need our BetterWorldians to help to reach our goal by going to Facebook.com/ABetterWorld and playing the game,” said A Better World CEO Ray Hansell.
A Better World encourages gratitude, habits of goodness, positive mindsets, and giving to social causes to make a difference. Players can even send get well notes to real world children recovering from surgeries. Fun rewards for doing good include dressing up, taking care of pets, and decorating virtual homes. Players also work together to meet do-good goals that, when met, release money to charities. A Better World calls this Cause Gaming®. Through the end of January, the only currency accepted is acts of kindness and other social good you can do in game.
