Plumber Contractor Alex Figliolia Jr. launches business reputation tip blog
Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) December 21, 2015 -- Plumber and contractor, Alex Figliolia Jr. has released a business blog entitled, “Keeping Your Business Clear of Cyber Clogs” The blog is designed to help people in the construction industry protect their business against cyber and social media bashing.
Said Alex Figliolia Jr., a plumber who has had his own battles with negative publicity, "With the advent of the internet and social media sites, small businesses such as father and son plumbers, electricians and contractors are always at risk for adverse publicity. Historically, the contractors and plumbers have gotten a bad reputation- mostly because people do not understand what we do or because they call us in emergency situations when they are under stress. Also, anything relating to the construction industry is expensive – especially in emergency situations. These facts of the industry can sometimes create an uneasiness between a contractor and a client. If the client isn’t satisfied, too often he or she will take to the internet or social media to malign the contractor’s reputation.”
Says Alex Figliolia Jr - "Like many contractors, I learned this lesson the hard way as negative articles and reviews were written about me from disgruntled employees or competitors. Because my main business was plumbing, I did not keep up with internet technology and social media so I wasn’t aware of the opportunities available to me. My blog will lay out tips for people in the contracting industry to protect their business reputation"
The blog was prompted by a recent article that appeared in the New York Daily News on Dec 14, 2015 about a Texas Plumber who was harassed when a truck he sold wound up in the hands of militant extremists. The photo went viral and the plumber received numerous death threats and lost business even though he wasn’t aware of the truck’s new owners.
Says Alex Figliolia Jr - "Negative stories or reviews posted on the internet never go away. For a small business it can be their death. My blog will help plumbers, electricians, pavers and any type of contractor understand where the pitfalls lie and how to avoid them."
