Poetry collection ‘Through the Storms’ enjoys new late-2014 marketing push
Livingston, Tenn. (PRWEB) December 09, 2014 -- Driven by a desire to bring inner peace and tranquility to her readers, author Linda Garrett Hicks pens her new collection of poetry and prose “Through the Storms: A Collection of Poems and Vignettes” (published by WestBow Press) for readers from all walks of life.
Hicks began writing “Through the Storms” more than 50 years ago. Each poem has an accompanying footnote denoting the year it was written, and the events that inspired the particular poems are also noted. Her poems and essays communicate her thoughts on everyday highs and lows and the unpredictability of life.
The book is divided into five different categories: faith and inspiration; love and friendship; childhood home and mother; nature and creation; and vignettes. Hicks intends for readers to skip around so they may find the passage that speaks to them at any point in their lives.
“I hope ‘Through the Storms’ serves to remind that even though storms rage, hearts break and dreams die, the flowers will continue to bloom,” Hicks writes. “The breezes will keep blowing, babies will still smile and God will always love.”
