Polk County, Fla., Begins E-Recording with Simplifile
POLK COUNTY, Fla. (PRWEB) January 29, 2014 -- Florida’s Polk County has opened its doors to electronic recording (e-recording) of land documents with Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider.
With Simplifile’s service available, recording customers including title companies, banks, real estate attorneys, lien filers, contractors, and other organizations who submit documents to the county for recording will be able to do so electronically, from the comfort and convenience of their home or office.
“Now that Polk County has been enabled for e-recording, customers can begin submitting their documents by simply scanning, uploading, and sending them to the county via the Internet using Simplifile’s service,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “It’s so much faster, simpler, and more convenient for everyone involved. Not to mention, both the county and the document submitters can save a lot of money on mailing expenses and postage fees.”
E-Recording also helps both the county and its customers move toward a more paperless work environment, eliminating the need to mail original versions of documents or send checks for recording fees.
When the county receives the electronic documents from the customers through Simplifile, they are able to quickly review, stamp, record, and return the document in minutes.
In addition to the time and cost-savings, e-recording also benefits customers by reducing the number rejected documents, payment errors, and check fraud, as payments are securely processed via Automated Clearing House (ACH).
Polk County joins 37 additional e-recording counties in Florida who have adopted Simplifile service.
