Brick, NJ (PRWEB) April 30, 2014 -- We all love Mom, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to pick out something she will really love for Mother’s Day. That’s why gift cards were created; the perfect versatile gift for the picky mom or just any mom. But here’s the catch; make sure the gift card is to one of her favorite stores and if not, keep it versatile.
According to the National Retail Foundation’s 2014 Mother’s Day survey, 43.3% of people will be giving a gift card this Mother’s Day, with total spending on Mother’s Day gift cards expected to reach $2.1 billion. Both numbers are higher than last year.
However, not all gift cards are created equal. “Make sure to keep mom in mind when buying her a gift card”, says Jeremy Levi, Director of Marketing for CardCash.com, an online gift card exchange. Studies show that people tend to buy gift cards to retailers and restaurants where they like to shop and eat, without keeping the recipient in mind, says Levi. “You definitely won’t be scoring brownie points with mom for giving her a gift card to Aeropostale.”
In a recent poll of CardCash.com customers, the vast majority voted Amazon gift cards to be their favorite, followed by Walmart and Target. “The results show that consumers prefer receiving gift cards that are not restrictive and can be used on a wide assortment of possibilities”, says Levi. “There’s something for everyone on Amazon and in Walmart and Target; these gift cards make great gifts for everyone.”
The CardCash.com poll found many other gift cards to be quite popular, including Starbucks gift cards, Best Buy gift cards and Kohl’s gift cards. And that goes to show that the most popular gift card isn’t for everyone. “If you know mom loves her daily coffee fix in Starbucks or shopping for crafts in Michael’s, in all likelihood those gift cards will be more appreciated and are a better way to express how much you love mom”, says Levi.
Headquartered in Brick, NJ and backed by Guggenheim Patners, CardCash.com presently offers the largest selection of discounted gift cards online and has the highest standards of security implemented to help streamline the sales and purchases of gift cards on the secondary market.
CardCash.com was previously ranked by Forbes as #85 on America’s 100 Most Promising Companies for 2013, and by Inc Magazine two years running, in both 2012 and 2013, on the Inc. 500's list of fastest growing private companies in America.
