Polysciences, Inc. Introduces Line of Cell Culture Bags
Warrington, PA (PRWEB) May 06, 2014 -- Polysciences, Inc., an award-winning company specializing in the development and manufacturer of high purity chemicals and reagents for laboratory research, histology, tissue embedding, healthcare diagnostics and medical devices, introduces a new line of Cell Culture Bags that are simple-to-use, single-use devices for the culture, harvest and storage of cells.
Constructed using a USP Class VI medical grade material, these bags display the high gas permeability needed to support rapid cell growth, with the robustness necessary for centrifugation (to 1,000xg) and long-term cryo-cell storage. Available in 50mL, 250mL, 1liter and 2liter sizes, Polysciences' Cell Culture Bags can be used with greater fill volumes than other standard cell culture devices, while still delivering high protein yields.
Polysciences' Cell Culture Bags have a screw cap fitment that facilitates cell harvesting, and are available with both integrated needleless Luer-lock ports as well as needle ports for aseptic inoculation and sampling. These ports can also be used to connect several bags in series for easy production scale-up.
The high gas permeability of these bags eliminates the need for additional aeration and no extraneous shaker or stirring devices are required with Polysciences' Cell Culture Bags. Only a simple CO2 incubator is needed. The use of highly compact wire shelving, such as those available with the Caron 6024 Reach-In CO2 Incubator, provide the space and capacity for up to 96 one liter cell culture bags. Converting your Caron Incubator into a bioreactor-scale system, with 3 times as much cell culture volume compared to similar incubators filled with flasks and/or roller bottles.
Polysciences' Cell Culture Bags are fully stable under conditions of cryo-storage, displaying chemical resistance to DMSO and DMF, maintaining strength and flexibility at temperatures employed for long-term cell storage.
Cell types cultured using Polysciences' Cell Culture Bags include: Hybridomas, CHO K-1, HEK293, Jurkats, Stem cells (embryonic and adipose-derived), sf-9 insect, CHO-S and plant cells.
