PortalGuard Boosts Apple Macintosh Productivity with PG Desktop for Mac
BEDFORD, NH (PRWEB) January 13, 2016 -- Self-service password reset and account unlock against corporate directory servers are two services that have been available for many years as part of PortalGuard’s all-in-one authentication platform. For many of our clients, these features are carried out using the PortalGuard Desktop component on their workstations. This feature is often used to force users to enroll challenge questions and answers (by providing personal answers to the questions they choose) and reset their passwords directly from the computer’s logon screen. For some time, this level of usability is not something Mac users have had access to. Now, PortalGuard Desktop for Macintosh allows users to reset or recover forgotten passwords used to login to the Mac OS X workstations.
“In today’s digital climate, users are working on both Windows and Mac operating systems; therefore cross-platform functionality is a must and we cannot ignore the fact that more users across all enterprise and educational markets are starting to choose Apple devices for work. We are very committed to adapting to user preferences when it comes to our product,” says Tom Hoey, CEO of PistolStar, Inc.
PortalGuard Desktop for Mac OS X provides users with the ability to reset their passwords for Active Directory or SAML-enabled applications right from their workstation login screens. This increases usability by allowing password resets to multiple login points thus reducing the number of helpdesk calls. PortalGuard also provides additional Mac hardware support including the PortalGuard mobile password reset app—available on Apple’s App Store—and enables Mac Keychain Password Recovery.
