Portsmouth-Based Craft Brewery Tour Bus Wins ‘Best of New Hampshire’

Since April, Granite State Growler Tours (http://www.nhbeerbus.com) has been taking scores of locals and tourists alike to seacoast craft breweries each weekend, where they enjoy private tours with the brewers of some of the finest beers brewed in New Hampshire.
While on board the 14-seat passenger bus, affectionately dubbed “Greta the Growler Getta,” guests are entertained by the tour guide who shares New Hampshire’s foamy and frothy history. It’s a beer story so whimsical and fascinating that proves fact is often more astonishing than fiction.
Tours typically depart in Hampton, and crawl up the coast to Portsmouth and back, with personal stops at three to five brew destinations – with sampling at each, all included in the price of the tour.
“It’s been a lot of fun already, and we’ve been overwhelmed with the positive response from our guests who have all had a great time on the tour. Some have come back several times already,” says owner David Adams, who came up with the idea of a New Hampshire beer bus tour late last year, and literally got the wheels rolling. “There are so many fantastic local craft breweries right here in the coast of New Hampshire. I wanted to develop a way that tourists and locals could get out and appreciate them and have a good time along the way.”
With the “Best of New Hampshire” award, he has seemingly accomplished that goal. New Hampshire Magazine honored Granite State Growler Tours with the Editor’s Choice “Best Beer Tour” for 2013 in June, and seats aboard “Greta” have been filling up fast.
In addition to tours every Saturday and Sunday, Granite State Growler Tours offers private group tours and special events any day of the week to host the perfect birthday party, bachelor or bachelorette party, and corporate events, even picking up and dropping off at specifically requested locations.
