Posty Cards Joins Workplace Charging Challenge to promote EV charging stations
Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) January 27, 2016 -- Posty Cards, a Kansas City-based business greeting card manufacturer since 1948, is among the first companies in the area to help fill the infrastructure gap for plug-in electric vehicles (EV) by joining the Workplace Charging Challenge, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) initiative.
Posty Cards installed the first privately owned EV charging station in Kansas City in 2010 as part of an extensive building renovation project that achieved Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Platinum certification. It is one of the first manufacturing companies in the country to receive LEED Platinum designation from the U.S. Green Building Council.
The EV station is available to Posty Cards’ employees and to the public. The Posty Cards headquarters is located two blocks south of I-70 near downtown Kansas City, making it a convenient location for commuters and long-distance travelers to stop and charge an EV.
As a member of the Workplace Charging Challenge, Posty Cards joins more than 230 employers nationwide that have pledged to provide EV charging access to their workforce and share their best practices with other employers in a nationwide network. The DOE began the challenge in 2013 with a goal of 500 U.S. employers offering workplace charging by 2018.

The DOE reports that employers involved in the Workplace Charging Challenge vary in size, industry and geography. Posty Cards joins them in a common goal of advancing the nation’s economic, environmental and energy security by supporting electric vehicle technology and reducing petroleum use in transportation.
