PracticeQuiz Releases Halloween "Zombie Apocalypse" Quiz in Support of Emergency Preparedness
Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 29, 2014 -- Just in time for Halloween, PracticeQuiz announced the release of its free Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness Quiz for those who might find learning about emergency preparedness a bit dull in the real world.
Modeled after the CDC's 2011 blog post about zombie preparedness, the 25 questions features such topics as creating and maintaining a safety kit, establishing a family emergency plan, and how to keep informed during an ongoing emergency.
Emergency preparedness is important, but many people find it boring, stressful, or overwhelming to learn about all the different aspects of preparing for a possible weather disaster or serious disease outbreak. "We know it's not something people like to spend a lot of time thinking about," says Alison Ryland, a Product Development Associate for UpwardMobility, which runs PracticeQuiz.com. "That's why we followed the lead of the CDC. Humor is a great way to get people engaged with serious topics, and zombie-themed humor is especially engaging around Halloween. Hopefully these questions will make people more comfortable with the idea of preparing for real emergencies."
PracticeQuiz developers didn't expect their lighthearted zombie questions to be quite so relevant when they came up with the idea, but the recent spread of ebola to the US from Western Africa highlighted the need for engaging learning tools around the issue of preparing for emergency situations. "These questions are tailored after CDC recommendations for dealing with natural disasters, not diseases," says Ryland. "But we hope they spark interest in other types of emergencies as well."
