About the Author
Pradipta Kumar Das was born in May 1962 at Keonjhar, Odisha as the seventh of the eight children of his parents. He went to Mochibandha Primary School and D.N. High School at Keonjhar for his primary and secondary education respectively. Graduating with physics, mathematics and geology from Keonjhar College in 1982, he then moved to I.I.T Kharagpur to do his Masters in Exploration Geophysics. He has worked for the National Oil Company of India, ONGC Limited for more than three decades now and is still working. He obtained an MTech degree in Petroleum Exploration from I.S.M, Dhanbad and a PhD from the University of Adelaide, Australia while still working for ONGC Ltd. He has been happily married for about 24 years now. He currently lives in Bhubaneswar with his wife and two children.
