Pre-Production for Actor/Director Perry King’s New Independent Film, The Divide, from Left For Dead Productions Successfully Funded by Kickstarter Campaign
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 13, 2014 -- Veteran actor/director Perry King (Riptide, The Day After Tomorrow) is pleased to announce the incredible success of a Kickstarter campaign to help source crowd funding for his new independent Western, The Divide, from Left For Dead Productions.

King has been dreaming for years of filming a movie on his cattle ranch in Northern California. Though the Hollywood veteran has countless contacts in the industry and could look for financing within the system, he elected to take a non-traditional route by going through Kickstarter to help his project come to life.
King has been working with Concord, New Hampshire-based screenwriter Jana Brown to craft the script for The Divide. The duo was joined by veteran Chicago-based filmmaker Russ Rayburn. The three will use their collective experience to produce a movie they all believe in deeply.
The Divide will be filmed on the authentic setting of a 500-acre cattle ranch in the Gold Rush country of El Dorado County, Calif. King is funding more than half of the film’s cost, but the Kickstarter funding will support pre-production expenses. Filming is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2015.
“The success of the Kickstarter campaign has not only brought funding but enormous interest in the film,” says King. “I know this film is going to be something we can all be proud to be a part of, and I am so happy so many have elected to join me in this project.”
Supporters will enjoy an array of special rewards and, at certain giving levels, exclusive access to the making of The Divide and an invitation to join King and the cast and crew at the movie’s premiere.
