Precertification Courses a Convenient Addition at the 2016 iaedp™ Symposium
Pekin, IL (PRWEB) January 16, 2016 -- The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp) are featuring precertification courses for professionals at the 2016 iaedp Symposium on February 17-21 at the Omni on Amelia Island, Florida.
For more information and to register for the precertification courses and the 2016 iaedp Symposium, go to http://www.iaedp.com.
Previously offered in a self-paced, online format, the courses are provided in a two-day, 12-hour track at the 2016 iaedp Symposium. Beginning on Wed., February 17, and concluding on Thurs., February 18, the course is offered as a separate track for $250 or combined with a Symposium 2016 registration for an additional $125. All other prerequisites for certification regarding education, experience, supervision, and successful completion of a written examination apply. Course titles are: Overview of Eating Disorders, Treatment Modalities, Nutritional Aspects of Eating Disorders, and Medical Aspects of Eating Disorders. Each course is a three-hour workshop.
For experienced eating disorders professionals who qualify, this program is a pathway to the certification process. The program also offers professionals new to the field or who do not specialize in eating disorders an opportunity for the most comprehensive training with a current overview of eating disorder diseases and eating disorder treatment approaches.
Prior to the start of the Symposium, each three-hour class is presented by eating disorder professionals well-known in the field who serve on iaedp’s Advisory Board.
“A professional's time is valuable, which is why we developed the two-day live format for presenting the classes at our annual symposium,” said Bonnie Harken, Managing Director at The iaedp Foundation. “By offering the course prior to our annual Symposium, professionals are able to accomplish as much as possible during the time spent at the time of the Symposium.”
