Prefix Performance Builds Viper Medusa Roadster
Auburn Hills, Michigan (PRWEB) July 21, 2014 -- Performance car enthusiasts have wondered when, if ever, a roadster version of the 5th Generation SRT Viper would be available. When nearly 500 Viper enthusiasts arrived at Prefix for a tour this past weekend, they had no idea they would be the very first to see a customized Medusa Roadster.
Rochester Hills, Michigan based Prefix Corporation is a tier 1 automotive supplier. Their 129,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art paint facility is where all current production Vipers are painted. In addition to advanced vehicle customization, Prefix is known throughout the transportation industry as a premier source for prototypes and one-off models, as well as concept cars and even specialty vehicle creations for the motion picture industry. Their design and engineering expertise, custom interiors, and show-car paint process combined with a close partnership with Arrow Racing Engines, makes them uniquely qualified to create innovative, complete niche vehicles.
“We are very close to the Viper community and hear input directly from car owners and Viper enthusiasts from around the globe,” explained Prefix CEO, Kim Zeile. “In addition to custom interiors, and special paint finishes, we’ve often discussed the idea of a convertible and the timing seemed right. Our engineering, design, and fabrication teams were up to the challenge and we’re proud to have created a beautiful car we now call… Medusa.” (Manufactured, Engineered, Developed in the USA)
This drop-top performance car includes a selection of custom Medusa enhancements. A custom 3D side-badge is finished in a smoked-chrome, while the Medusa logo also appears in body-color on embroidered floor mats. The dash sports an engraved badge with its specialty limited-edition vehicle number. Under the hood, the Viper’s X-brace and coil covers have been painted the same colors as the vehicle’s immaculate exterior paint finish. Many topless conversions cause reduced trunk space. Medusa maintains the factory space, while providing an even larger trunk opening for easier access.
“We continue to design special customization packages for a variety of vehicle models,” continued Zeile, “But, we are huge fans of the Viper and love the passion of its owners. It’s a true American-muscle icon and a blast to work with.”
The Viper enthusiasts that were in the Detroit area this weekend got to see, touch, and photograph the Medusa in person. Prefix is gauging interest in the custom vehicle to determine additional production.
