Pregnancy Loss Documentary has Crowdfunding Success: Kickstarter Campaign Secures Seed Money for Project
Washington, DC (PRWEB) August 12, 2015 -- The times are changing and it’s time to start talking about the baby. Don’t Talk About the Baby is a documentary that aims to change how society discusses and deals with the topics of miscarriage, infertility, and stillbirth.
In thirty days using crowdfunding giant, Kickstarter, Don’t Talk About the Baby raised over $30,000 in starter funds to begin production on making this film that aims to remove the shame of pregnancy loss. With over 100 stories posted online, the team is in the reviewing and contacting phase to secure the voices needed to make the film. "Now that production is underway, we'll be posting regular updates from the road, behind-the-scenes videos and blogs and holding public events to raise awareness,” explains Zamudio. “This is more than just a movie- it's a movement."
The movement has already garnered the support of doctors and experts in these fields including Dr. James Grifo from the New York University Fertility Center, Dr. Eric Surrey of the Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine, Dr. Karen Kelly of Through the Heart Foundation, Dr. Rebecca Kukla from Georgetown University, and Dr. Hilde Lindemann from Michigan State University.
In addition, Women in Film and Video – DC awarded Don’t Talk About the Baby fiscal sponsorship so tax-deductible donations are still being accepted to support the project.
