Prem Rawat Foundation Marks U.N. International Day of Peace With New Push for Peace
(PRWEB) September 21, 2017 -- In support of the International Day of Peace on September 21, The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) produced a new video to grow awareness that peace is possible for individuals across the planet.
Established by the United Nations (U.N.) in 1981, the annual International Day of Peace — often called “Peace Day” — aims to bring all of humanity together to commit to peace above all differences. The goal dovetails well with the mission of TPRF, a nonprofit that strives to address the fundamental human needs of food, water and peace so that people can live with dignity, peace and prosperity.
Amid a world wracked by conflict, the short new video, “Medicine for Peace,” features evocative imagery of news headlines alternating with an empowering message from TPRF Founder Prem Rawat urging people to cultivate peace in their own lives.
“Isn’t it the world that needs the peace? No, you do. If we, the individuals, had the peace, the world peace would be there. Maybe peace is not that impossible, if we can change our way of looking at peace,” says Rawat in the video. “The most beautiful news is this: regardless of religion, regardless of race, regardless of color, regardless of whether they’re rich, whether they’re poor, whether they’re educated, whether they are uneducated, peace is dancing in the heart of every single human being. Peace has to be discovered, not created. That’s the peace that’s going to make the difference.”
Putting the message of the video into action, TPRF offers the Peace Education Program (PEP), an innovative series of multimedia workshops that help participants harness innate human resources such as choice, hope and inner strength. The program has been presented in 74 countries and is having a remarkable impact on diverse groups of people, from inmates to academics and government leaders.
“Medicine for Peace” is already being shared widely on social media and will be featured on two premier video streams on September 21: Peace Channel and PeaceCast.tv. The Peace Channel broadcast will be shown on the U.N. website and will include motivating messages from leading artists and activists. PeaceCast.tv will highlight content from a long list of notable organizations working to create cultures of peace and prosperity.
Last year’s TPRF Peace Day video, “Peace Starts Here,” garnered more than 4 million views, and “Medicine for Peace” is attracting a similarly enthusiastic response.
