Premier Exhibitions, Inc. Reintroduces Recording of Titanic’s Whistles in Honor of 30th Anniversary of the Ship Wreck’s Sept. 1 Discovery
ATLANTA (PRWEB) September 01, 2015 -- In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the discovery of Titanic’s wreck site on Sept. 1, Premier Exhibitions, Inc. reintroduces a recording of the Ship’s whistles. Guests can listen to the recording at all three permanent Titanic: The Artifact Exhibitions located in Buena Park, Calif., Las Vegas and Orlando, Fla.
The recording was created in 1999 by blowing high-pressured air through the three different-sized bronze whistles recovered during the 1993 expedition. While steam was used to sound the whistles in 1912, the recording is similar to what passengers on the “Ship of Dreams” would have heard.
Thought to have been mounted on the Ship’s first funnel, the whistles now reside in the Buena Park, Calif. Exhibition. Las Vegas guests can view a replica of the whistles and hear the recording in the Exhibition’s construction hallway that reveals how Titanic was built while visitors in Orlando will hear the recording in the departure hallway.

In addition to hearing Titanic’s whistle chime, Las Vegas exhibition-goers will also have one last chance to view the Cherub, a bronze statue installed in the Exhibition for a limited-time engagement. The statue, thought to have been part of a light fixture on the aft staircase, is the only cherub ever to be recovered from the Ship’s wreckage and will be removed after Labor Day.
