Cincinnati, OHIO (PRWEB) January 15, 2015 -- Premier Social Security Consulting of Cincinnati will provide National Social Security Association (NSSA) Advisors education seminars for professional advisors in 30 U.S. cities across the nation this year.
It will also host 15 webinars in 2015.
Marc Kiner, a 35-year certified public accountant who sold his CPA firm to concentrate on Social Security education, and Jim Blair, a 35-year veteran of the Social Security Administration, joined forces five years ago to help baby boomers understand and maximize their Social Security benefits.
Premier initially focused on counseling individual retirees and those considering retirement on how to understand and navigate the Social Security system, but wanted to reach more people faster.
Three years ago, they began reaching out to professional advisors—insurance agents, CPAs, financial advisor, and enrolled agents—and began teaching and certifying them through the National Social Security Association’s NSSA Advisors program.
NSSA Advisors can in turn educate their own clients on Social Security issues and help them maximize Social Security benefits.
Educational credits for NSSA classes are available for CFPs, CPAs and insurance agents taking the Social Security education classes.
“Social Security is becoming such an important part of people’s lifetime income because we are living longer and may face a retirement of 20 or 30 years,” said Blair. “NSSA advisors are better equipped to help their clients make wise decisions about Social Security.”
Kiner said that as baby boomers age, they ask their professional advisors more questions about Social Security strategies—namely, the most advantageous times and ways to access Social Security benefits.
“We are reaching out to CPAs, financial advisors and all professional advisors nationwide,” said Kiner. “We want to be the Social Security education backbone for these advisors.”
Boomers turn 65 years old at the rate of 10,000 a day, so there is great demand nationwide to learn about Social Security. About 72 million Americans are classified as baby boomers.
A married couple can leave as much as $150,000 on the table in Social Security benefits by not accessing the program correctly based on their ages, health and life expectancy and not coordinating spousal benefits, said Kiner.
NSSA revenue is up 111 percent year over year for 2014, and the number of advisors attending educational classes has reached 900. Kiner anticipates another 900 professional advisors will be educated in 2015.
Live classes will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the following cities: Feb. 20- Dallas, Tex.; Feb. 25- Cincinnati; March 3- Knoxville, Tenn.; March 4- Nashville, Tenn.; March 16- Orlando, Fla.; April 17- Cincinnati; April 20-Cleveland, Ohio; April 24- San Mateo, Calif.; April 30- Kansas City; May 18- Louisville, Ky.; May 27- Indianapolis;
