Private Healthcare UK's new guide to life insurance aims to give consumers confidence and clarity in a confusing market
London, United Kingdom (PRWEB UK) 31 July 2013 -- A new guide to life insurance published today aims to help consumers make sense of this complex and often confusing market.
The independent and impartial guide, ‘A Consumers Guide to Life Insurance’, is published by Private Healthcare UK, the UK’s leading website on private healthcare, and sponsored by InsureMe-on-Line, the online guide to insurance products. The guide is now available to download from Private Healthcare UK
The guide has been written by Ian Youngman, a writer and researcher specialising in the insurance market. Youngman explains in layman’s terms the different types of life insurance available including endowment assurance, family income plans, funeral plans and business protection. He also clears up the confusion over the difference between life insurance and life assurance – there isn’t one; they’re actually the same thing!
The guide sets out to explain the often complex and confusing terminology used by insurance companies and the many different types of policy on offer. Consumers are then guided through the process of choosing and applying for the right policy for them and their family.
Youngman says that life insurance is very necessary for most people:
“Life insurance is one of the simplest insurance concepts on the planet - if you die your family gets paid a cash sum. Life cover is taken out to protect your family: To pay off the mortgage; to ensure an income for children or to pay funeral costs. Life insurance is and should be a protection product.
“Many people are lulled into a false sense of security by having some insurance, or by assuming that 'the State' will provide for them and their families. If anyone is financially dependent on you, they would probably find it hard to make ends meet if you died. Life insurance to pay out in the event of your death would give them financial security.”
Keith Pollard, Managing Director of Intuition Communication, the publishers of Private Healthcare UK, says he commissioned the guide as a response to consumers asking for guidance:
“Over the last few years we’ve seen a rise in the number of enquiries we get from consumers seeking to insure themselves and their families. We think this comprehensive guide will give consumers the information and confidence necessary to take the right decisions for themselves, their families and their futures.”
