According to prosecutor Adam King, the elaborate scam was planned in great detail, and included submitting false invoices to the fictitious companies set up by McKenzie-Green. The head of Oxfam’s counter-fraud unit, Oliver May, emphasized that Oxfam used donations to help fight poverty all across the globe, which makes the actions of their former employee all the more unacceptable.
