Private Island Entertainment LLC Donates Money to Victims of Typhoon Yolanda
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 31, 2013 -- Private Island Entertainment LLC Donates Money to Victims of Typhoon Yolanda
Owner Jonathan Glatt won a ‘date’ with NYC Christmas Spectacular Rockette Christine Sienicki at charity auction; all proceeds went to aid victims of the most powerful typhoon in recorded history.
Private Island Entertainment, LLC, a New York-based party supply company, has donated funds to JCI Philippine-New York, a charity that benefits victims of Typhoon Hiayan/Yolanda. Typhoon Hiayan/Yolanda was the deadliest Philippine typhoon and the most powerful typhoon in recorded history. At an event sponsored by JCI Philippine-New York on December 7, 2013, Private Island Entertainment owner Jonathan Glatt made a significant donation. In exchange, he won a ‘date’ with Christine Sienicki, a Rockette in Radio City Music Hall’s Radio City Christmas Spectacular. More information on the charity event and to make a donation can be found at http://typhoon.philnyjaycees.org.
"I participated to help raise money for victims of typhoon Yolanda, to raise awareness and support. It happens quite frequently over there and more should be done to help," said Christine Sienecki.
Private Island Party has a history of supporting the community, including the global community. In March of 2013, the company donated LED light up shoe laces to go with donated pairs of shoes from "The Shoe Crew." The shoes went to kids in need, providing children of disadvantaged families with new athletic shoes for the summer and school year. In Oct of 2013, the company donated googly eye glasses to "A Place Called Home," a not-for-profit in South Central LA that creates after school activities for underprivileged youths. With that donation and a stage, Private Island and "A Place Called Home" were able to participate in a Guinness World Record for the most googly eye glasses worn and let the kids enjoy a safe Halloween.
"As a party supply company, our mission is spread smiles and laughter. When things happen that prevent a large group of people from being able to experience joy, we feel it is our mission to help out in way we can," said Jonathan Glatt.
"We have made charitable giving a foundation of our company. We might not be able to solve all of the world’s problems, but we are happy to help everywhere we can," Glatt said. "This event was fun and still extremely focused on helping the millions of people who were affected by Typhoon Yolanda. While we might not be able to do anything about the weather, we will do everything in our power to fix what has been broken."
Reparations in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda will likely continue for many years. The storm resulted in the loss of over 6,000 lives and billions of dollars in damage.
