PROaupair Sets Out to Redefine Childcare for Children With Special Needs
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) June 05, 2014 -- PROaupair was recently designated as a administrator of the Department of State J-1 visa exchange visitor au pair program. What make this designation unique, is that unlike the other Department of State designated au pair agencies across the United States, San Clemente, CA., based PROaupair is the first and only au pair agency designated by the Department of State to focus on working with families with children with special needs.
A majority of PROaupair's au pairs come to the U.S. from Germany to live with American families for up to 2 years. In exchange for room and board, the au pair provides up to 45-hours a week of childcare for the family. Au pairs receive a weekly cash stipend from the host family as well.
Unlike other au pair agencies in the U.S., PROaupair au pairs come to the U.S. with vast experience and/or completed degrees in Occupational Therapy, Pediatric Nursing, Teaching, Physical Therapy, and a range of other professional backgrounds. For families who have a child or children with special needs, having a live-in childcare provider with a professional background allows the therapy that the children receives outside the home to carry over seamlessly into the home, while also allowing parents to work outside the home and earn a living for the rest of the family.
