Products Claiming to Speed up Windows Put to the Ultimate Benchmark Test
HELSINKI, FINLAND (PRWEB) February 20, 2015 -- Macecraft Software is set to launch a groundbreaking benchmark study of products claiming to make Windows PCs work faster. A total of 135 different products that claimed to improve the performance of one’s computer were tested. These products have been put through a rigorous testing procedure in which different benchmarks are used to see what effects – if any – these products really have.
“Nothing like this has ever been done before, not with these testing methods and not on this scale,” said Jouni Flemming, Vice President of Macecraft Software. “We believe users are sick and tired of fake product reviews and affiliate link-infested comparisons that really tell nothing about these products. It's about time to separate the facts from the marketing talk and see if these products can really make a computer faster.”
In the study, two specific claims are measured including whether or not these products can make Windows start faster and also, if they can make the system actually operate at a higher speed. The system start-up times were measured before and after running the products and PCMark 7 system performance benchmark software has been used to determine whether these products have any impact on the performance of the computer.
The tests were carried out using three different operating systems: Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 (Technical Preview). In one of the testing procedures, the system is first benchmarked in its freshly installed state with no software installed to it. After this, some of the world's most popular software is installed to the system and benchmarks are run again to see whether installing popular software slows down the system. The last step is to test the system after it has been cleaned of the tested products and benchmarked one last time. The findings will be published along with screenshots and video to provide detailed information.
“We want people to see what really works rather than let consumers waste time and money on products that are not as effective as claimed,” Flemming said. “With all of the published findings within this study, this will leave no room for excuses. This study will change absolutely everything and we’re really excited about that.”
The benchmark study findings are set to be released on March 10, 2015. For more information, please see: http://www.macecraft.com
