Professional Photographers of America Releases Documentary
ATLANTA, Ga. (PRWEB) December 24, 2014 -- Professional Photographers of America (PPA) has released its first documentary film today, featuring its International Photographic Competition (IPC).
The film follows three women along their journey through PPA’s photographic competition, from image creation to submission and the judging process.
“There are a lot of myths surrounding print competition,” said Randy McNeilly, PPA’s photographic exhibition committee chairman. “This documentary shows how un-scary competition really is. PPA print competition is, bar none, the best way to improve your photography and head down the path toward earning photographic degrees.
“Clients want photographers who are out there pushing themselves to be more,” he continued. “There is nothing to lose by entering besides the education they can gain.”
The 16-minute, The Life of a Merit Image, is the first in a series of documentaries coming from PPA. The films aim to raise awareness of PPA’s member benefits through real-life accounts from PPA photographers. The Life of a Merit Image can be viewed online now.
PPA’s District Competitions are already under way. The Southwest District Competition will be judged January 8-9 in San Marcos, Texas. District Competitions and the International Photographic Competition are open to PPA photographers only, but non-members can and are encouraged to attend the judging or watch online via a live stream.
