Professional Photographers of America to Offer More Than One Hundred Classes on Super 1 Day
ATLANTA, Ga. (PRWEB) April 30, 2014 -- Photographers looking for that extra education and professional development boost don’t need to go far this spring.
From May 5 to May 19, photographers from coast to coast will open their studio doors to educate and inspire their peers as part of Super 1 Day—another educational endeavor from Professional Photographers of America (PPA). These more than 120 classes across the nation will help members and non-members alike better their photography and business skills to help raise the bar of the industry as a whole.
Formerly known as Super Monday, Super 1 Day was renamed to make way for more classes in a less-limited timeframe. Super 1 Day is a peer-to-peer photography learning extravaganza spread over a couple of weeks and takes place in May and in October every year.
To make Super 1 Day happen, PPA calls upon its members to volunteer to teach, “paying it forward,” so to speak, and share their strategies and techniques with fellow photographers. The result is a more skilled and cohesive photography industry.
But rather than bring everyone together at a single location, this semiannual event offers photographers around the country the opportunity to learn from their peers at a nearby studio. This experience gives participants useful knowledge from someone right there in their local market and helps develop their personal and professional network systems that are vital for these small business owners.
Super 1 Day will span portrait and wedding photography, posing and lighting, digital retouching and workflow, landscape and commercial photography, and sales and marketing strategies. Whatever it is a photographer might need help with, there’s likely to be a class that can help.
As proof that the nationwide learning event serves to better the entire photographic industry, PPA membership is not required to attend Super 1 Day classes or workshops. All attendees will also receive a Bonus Pack, which includes exclusive discounts and offers from several leading photographic companies.
Current members of PPA will earn one service merit for attending. These merits go toward earning PPA degrees, prized professional distinctions that only the most dedicated photographers possess.
On-site registration is available (space permitting) for $120. Registration and class information can be found online at ppa.com/super1day.
