Project Management Academy® Announces New Scholarships for Aspiring Project Managers
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) June 17, 2014 -- Project Management Academy (PMA®) announced today 22 new scholarships intended to promote project management education across the United States. The scholarships, distributed through the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation™ (PMIEF), were created to provide students, teachers, professionals, and non-profit organizations the opportunity to develop their project management prowess through continuing education.
“We’re elated to roll out these new scholarship programs for aspiring project managers,” said John Smith, founder and CEO of Project Management Academy. “The cost of formal project management education is just one of many obstacles to overcome in obtaining a PMI certification or master’s degree. Project Management Academy maintains that financial obligation should be the least of these concerns, and we hope that these scholarships can be leveraged by project managers in need, in order to promote a better educated and well-rounded project management community.”
The scholarship designations and amounts are as follows*:
Academic Scholarships
• One $3,500 scholarship for a graduating or recently graduated student
• One $2,000 scholarship for a project management practitioner returning to university or college
Professional Development Scholarships
• 20 in-kind scholarships for teachers and staff or non-profit organizations. Recipients are given access to Project Management Academy CAPM Virtual Training Course or Project Management Academy PMP Virtual Training Course.
*Any funds not awarded in a scholarship cycle will roll over to the next scholarship cycle. PMIEF scholarship guidelines and application processes will be followed in the delivery of these scholarships. All decisions of the PMI Educational Foundation and its Scholarship Evaluation and Selection Committee are final.
