ProMAX Releases Support for Groundbreaking Thunderbolt LTO Devices
Amsterdam, The Netherlands, IBC Conference, Hall 7 Stand 7.A04 (PRWEB) September 09, 2016 -- ProMAX Systems, world leader in integrated workflow technology for creative media organizations, today announced expanded support for a full array of 3rd party LTO hardware, including mLogic’s industry first Thunderbolt LTO, mTape, making it easier and more cost effective than ever to integrate LTO with Shared Storage and Media Asset Management.
Designed for video professionals to accelerate and improve their content creation process, Platform Workflow Servers are end-to-end solutions capable of ingesting, editing, transcoding, rendering and archiving simultaneously -- all in one unit. Platform's superior performance and capacities give media professionals the power they need to work with today's 4K, 6K+ driven production workflows.
As Thunderbolt is supported natively on almost all ProMAX Platform workflow servers, the addition of the mTape and mRack devices expand the flexibility of adding tape to systems without the need for adding PCIe cards to an existing server. Platform’s already effortless integration with existing IT infrastructure just got easier. Enabling Thunderbolt LTO tape drives on Platform makes archiving a plug and play operation, simply connect Platform directly to LTO devices via Thunderbolt cable, and you’re ready to archive.
“Adding support for mTape and mRack units creates a unique opportunity to easily add Archival tape capabilities to any system, including our Platform Portable,” said Jess Hartmann, CEO, ProMAX Systems. “Users no longer need to choose 10GB connectivity over LTO, now they can have both. It’s never been easier.”
Platform Portable was designed to help on-the-go creative groups be more organized and efficient, enabling real-time sharing of media and greater collaboration no matter what the content and where it is located. Now with added support for Thunderbolt LTO devices, Platform Portable users can create, Backup and Archive all on the same system, in the studio or in the field.
LTO functionality includes full integration with the Platform Asset Management software including customized metadata tagging & searching, offline/archive video preview, TAR and LTFS support, support for previous Cache-A database files, automated backup, incremental backup, scheduled archives, and a myriad of additional feature sets.
New Supported 3rd Party Hardware Devices:
● HP LTO Tape Drives
● HP LTO Tape Libraries/Library Drives
● mTape Thunderbolt
● mRack Thunderbolt
● IBM LTO Tape Drives
● Quantum LTO Tape Drives
License keys are available for a cost of $995 per drive for single drives or $2,995 per drives for library drives. The Platform LTO integration includes both backup and archive functionality. This requires both hardware connectivity from your server and Platform V5 software. LTO devices can be purchased thru ProMAX or separately.
