Proove Biosciences Announces Sponsorship of National Drug Take Back Day and HC DrugFree

HC DrugFree will be hosting the event at multiple locations throughout Howard County, Maryland in order to make it more convenient for all residents to participate.
This week’s National Drug Take Back Day coincides with the Medicine Abuse Project’s Mind Your Meds week - a week-long effort asking the public to show support for ending teen medicine abuse by safeguarding and disposing of prescription medicines at home. These events play a small role in the larger initiative of Medicine Abuse Awareness month, which takes place during the entire month of October.
Proove Biosciences will be providing “Mind Your Meds” T-shirts to the HC DrugFree’s Teen Advisory Council, which provides the youth perspective to staff and Board members of HC DrugFree. The Teen Advisory Council is composed of Howard County high school students who meet monthly to discuss teen drug and alcohol use, and develop educational messages that promote HC DrugFree’s vision.
HC DrugFree is a non-profit based out of Howard County, Maryland established to respond to the alarming number of teens using illegal substances in the community. Over the years, HC DrugFree has expanded as more high schools around the county became involved in providing substance abuse education. Joan Webb Scornaienchi serves as HC DrugFree’s executive director, and has over 20 years of experience in higher education.
