Propaganda3 Launches New QUAY COFFEE iPhone App
Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) July 23, 2013 -- The digital design and app publishing/development team at Kansas City’s Propaganda3 unveiled their latest creation today, a new app for local craft coffee purveyors Quay Coffee. The app, simply titled Quay Coffee, is available in the App Store℠ as a free download for the iPhone starting today.
Expected elements, such as being able to view the River Market-based coffee shop’s menu and location information are augmented by deeper features, including updateable drink specials and social media-enabled photo manipulation. In a nod to the distinctive facial hair of Quay Coffee’s founders and enthusiastic baristas Tanner Stevens and Cory Stipp, app users can take a photo with their iPhone, apply a hand-drawn beard or mustache, and share the photo via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or email.
“As a small business, we’re always looking for new ways to engage with our customers,” says Stipp. “Social media has definitely played an important role in spreading the word and we think this app will allow us to do even more of that. Sometimes there’s a lot of pretension that can surround coffee culture, especially when it comes to our particular style of serving individually brewed pour-over coffee. This app also shows that we don’t take ourselves too seriously. In the end, it’s about serving a good product to good people in a casual environment.”
For Propaganda3 founder/CEO Cello Vergara, the app represented an opportunity to develop custom components that could be easily applied to future projects, including the ability for admins to update the app’s drink specials board by sending a simple email to the app.
“We wanted to make the app highly usable from an admin perspective,” says Vergara. “We were able to do that and maintain a custom-crafted feel, something that many of the canned, do-it-yourself app development platforms coming into the marketplace these days simply can’t do.”
