Property Drone Consortium President Joins Drone Advisory Committee Sub-Committee (DACSC)
Columbia, South Carolina (PRWEB) July 12, 2017 -- The Property Drone Consortium (PDC), a collaboration that consists of insurance carriers, roofing industry leaders and supporting enterprises announced today that its president, Charles Mondello, joined the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Drone Advisory Committee Sub-Committee (DACSC).
“We are pleased that the PDC will be a part of the FAA’s Drone Advisory Committee Sub-Committee,” said PDC Co-chairman Bryan Corder. “The research, analysis and testing that we have conducted since our formation in 2014 will be invaluable in assisting the FAA’s DAC to successfully regulate and integrate Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) into the National Airspace System.”
The Drone Advisory Committee (DAC) was announced by FAA Administrator Michael Huerta at the AUVSI Conference in May 2016. This federal advisory committee was formed to provide an open venue for the FAA and key decision-makers supporting the safe introduction of UAS into the National Airspace System. The DACSC is comprised of members of the DAC as well as additional organizations and provides the detailed technical analysis required for the DAC to be successful.
PDC Co-chairman Gary Sullivan stated, “Our members represent insurance carriers and roofing industry leaders who have a strong interest in incorporating UAS into everyday business operations. We fully support an active relationship with the FAA and other DAC members to assist not only with the safe incorporation of UAS but also with long-term initiatives after the policies and regulations are in place.”
The DAC is intended to be a long-lasting group. It will help identify and prioritize integration challenges and improvements, and create broad support for an overall integration strategy.
