ProRehab and Tri-State Orthopaedic Surgeons Continue Partnership With Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation
Evansville, IN (PRWEB) April 23, 2014 -- ProRehab and Tri-State Orthopaedic Surgeons (TSOS) staff met with members of the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation (EVSC) Foundation on February 24, 2014 to pledge their annual donation to the corporation at the EVSC Foundation’s check presentation. EVSC Principals and Athletic Directors will use the funds to support extracurricular teams, like Speech & Debate, purchase uniforms and equipment, and more.
“We appreciate all that Pro-Rehab and Tri-State Orthopaedic Surgeons do to support the EVSC Foundation,” said Gayle Long Kiesel, Executive Director of Development at EVSC. “The Principals and Athletic Directors continue to tell us how much this support means to their respective schools. Not only do athletic and extracurricular programs benefit, the funds also help purchase equipment for common areas in our schools and fund workshops for teachers to improve classroom learning.”
“The gratification of helping others is part of our organizational philosophy and mission,” said Phil Rawley, CEO of Tri-State Orthopaedic Surgeons. “We are happy to assist the EVSC Foundation as they build and strengthen our community.”
Through the sports medicine partnership, ProRehab screens student athletes’ movement patterns to eliminate asymmetries, keep athletes in top condition, reduce their risk of injury and identify performance-enhancing strategies. ProRehab’s Certified Athletic Trainers also attend student athletic events to provide on-site support. If an athlete is injured on the field during practice or a game, ProRehab staff can provide first aid or make return to play decisions, among other things. Additionally, each EVSC school has a TSOS physician directly responsible for their orthopaedic needs who also attend games to provide support.
ProRehab’s Certified Athletic Trainers are experts in injury prevention, providing immediate medical attention and working with physicians to deliver the best continuum of care for student athletes so they never have to miss a practice or a game.
“We’re thrilled to be continuing our relationship with the EVSC Foundation; it’s been a wonderful partnership thus far and we look forward to seeing what the future holds,” said Pat Wempe, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS, and owner of ProRehab. “We’re thankful for the opportunity EVSC gives us not only to keep our community’s young athletes healthy, but to support all students in the EVSC system.”
