ProVest Insurance Group Celebrates Anniversary of Ongoing Charity Effort, Launches New Initiative to Support Local Youth with Rare Disorder
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) August 26, 2015 -- ProVest Insurance Group, a locally owned insurance firm serving communities throughout the greater Raleigh area and beyond, is celebrating the first anniversary of their community involvement program. Acting as “Agents of Change,” the ProVest Insurance team has worked with nearly a dozen local charities over the last year, positively affecting the lives of many people in North Carolina.
ProVest is now announcing a new charity drive to assist a local young man named David Lockwood, an eleven year old boy who has been diagnosed with a very rare disorder called CDKL5. David is entirely dependent on assistance, cannot feed himself, and requires a wheelchair for mobility. David and his family have been at the forefront of CDKL5 research, and David was the motivation behind several wheelchair companies changing their product designs to increase safety.
“David is an incredibly courageous young man, truly an inspiration to all of us, and we’re launching this charity drive to support him and his family,” says Jay Adkins, owner and manager of ProVest Insurance Group. “We could all learn a little something about strength and spirit from David and his family.”
Reaching out to local community members, clients, and friends alike, Adkins and the ProVest Insurance team are raising awareness of rare disorders, advocating for CDKL5 research, and raising funds that will go directly to support David Lockwood and his family. A social media presence is under construction, and the ProVest team hopes this will gather even more support from across the state.
For over a year, ProVest Insurance has worked with local charities in an effort to bring about positive change, and according to Adkins the firm shows no signs of slowing down. “We’re going to keep helping out a new local cause every two months from here forward,” pledges Adkins.
