Proxy Web Browser Release Serves Three Separate Markets, Says idcloak
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 10, 2013 -- idcloak Technologies' release of a site-based proxy web browser incorporates new features to broaden its user base.
idcloak believes this free anonymity service will be of value to three distinct user groups, “First you have those who are looking for free counter surveillance techniques following the recent revelations about NSA monitoring of public communications,” says Robin Welles of the idcloak research team. “As long as the SSL checkbox is activated on the proxy, there is no way government data taps can monitor the content they request. The proxy defaults to encrypt URL as well, so only a visit to our site will be logged, not the visit to the destination site.”
The proxy's encryption capabilities also offers protection against WiFi sniffers on shared wireless networks, “WiFi sniffer apps like Faceniff give unskilled snoops free access to the social media or webmail accounts of anyone sharing that wireless connection. The snoop chooses from a list of users connected to that WiFi hotspot and, scarily, the victims are displayed by photos plucked from their online profiles. This means a snoop could pick you out in real life in a cafe or airport and then decide to poke around in your Facebook account. Our proxy web browser is one of the few services that can protect against this kind of sniffer attack.”
Welles says those wishing to browse without advertisers recording their movements will also find the proxy service useful: “The privacy functions of browsers only erase activity on your machine. Advertising syndicates can track your browser activity, which data will then be used to target ads at you. But if private browsing is activated and the site is visited through our proxy web browser, it's very hard for your activity to be identified as yours.”
