Public Figure David Sugarman Target of Suit
New York, NY (PRWEB) January 19, 2015 -- Sports agent, political activist and consultant David Sugarman is named as the defendant in a lawsuit by his former child caregiver. In October 2014, Sugarman contacted the Forest Hill’s company Tami’s Agency, where they were connected with the nanny, according to court documents.
After three months of engagement and access to Sugarman’s home and business affairs, nanny Radha Lutchman filed a lawsuit asking for compensation owed, a subject allegedly never discussed by Radha herself or the agency during her employment, according to the documents.
“I accept that part of being in the public limelight means that I might be the occasional target of an article in the press or people discussing my present based on my past,” said Sugarman. “But I entrusted Radha with what I hold most precious to me, my daughter, and to have this lawsuit filled is upsetting to me; I find the timing of all this rather suspect," Sugarman says.
“We treated her like family, brought her into our home and our lives and always paid exactly what the agency told us to pay.”
Sugarman took proper action in hiring a caregiver from a reputable agency, paying what Rhadha Lutchman requested and agreed upon, according to the court records. There were never any issues with this since October. He believes he did everything within his power to ensure that their child was in the hands of a responsible caregiver.
“Finding someone whom you can bring into your home with access to your private information and then entrust them to help you care for what means most to you is difficult enough without something like this as the result,” said Sugarman.
Sugarman has enlisted the assistance of an attorney, but he is confident the matter will be dropped. According to court documents, Tami’s Agency has also been alerted to the legal fillings and confirms that Sugarman has paid everything that was asked of him and what is required of him.
"It’s unfortunate that these allegations have come out however we have full faith in our civil justice system and believe that justice will prevail," says Ido Dotan Manager, Tami’s Agency.
