Public Invited to Participate in Salt Lake Community College President Search
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) January 21, 2014 -- The public is invited to attend any of four open meetings in advance of the search for the eighth president of Salt Lake Community College.
The 21-member search committee will use the comments of people who attend these meetings to draft the official announcement for the job opening.
“This is an opportunity for people to help chart the course of this school’s future,” said SLCC Public Relations Director Joy Tlou. “It’s the public’s chance to talk about what characteristics they would like to see in a new president and outline priorities for the school’s new leader.”

The position opened up this year upon the departure of President Cynthia Bioteau, who accepted a position as president of Florida State College in Jacksonville. The State Board of Regents selected Dr. Deneece Huftalin, SLCC Vice President of Student Services, to serve as the College’s interim president.
Salt Lake Community College is an accredited, student-focused, urban college meeting the diverse needs of the Salt Lake community. Home to more than 62,000 students each year, the College is the largest supplier of workforce development programs in the State of Utah. The College is the sole provider of applied technology courses in the Salt Lake area, with 13 sites, an eCampus, and nearly 1,000 continuing education sites located throughout the Salt Lake valley.
