PubNub and HARMAN to Enable Wireless Audio and Streaming Apps Everywhere
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) January 05, 2016 -- PubNub, the world’s leading global Data Stream Network for IoT, mobile and web apps, announced today that it is partnering with HARMAN International Industries, Incorporated, the premier audio, visual, infotainment and enterprise automation group. PubNub will bring data streaming capabilities to HARMAN’s HD Wireless Audio Systems so developers can quickly create powerful interactive apps and audio/visual experiences. PubNub and HARMAN will demonstrate these capabilities at the AT&T Developer Summit January 4-5 and at the ONE HARMAN Showcase in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas January 6 – 9 during CES 2016.
Using the PubNub Data Stream Network, developers can add innovative features to HARMAN audio systems, such as:
• Realtime monitoring and control of the speakers from any location
• Adjust the light color on the speakers automatically when a home reaches a certain temperature or when a cell phone battery drops to a certain level
• Play a favorite song immediately when unlocking the front door or opening the garage
• Draw pictures on a mobile device and display those pictures on the speaker using its LED lights
• Identify when certain doors throughout the house open or close or a doorbell rings via sensors attached to each door that signal the speaker to display different colors, depending on their status, for the hearing impaired
“As the premier connected technologies company for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets, HARMAN is at the forefront of delivering innovative products for the IoT market,” said Doron Sherman, vice president of Business Development at PubNub. “We look forward to seeing the interactive apps HARMAN developers will create by adding reliable, bi-directional streaming of data between HARMAN speakers and mobile, web and other embedded devices.”
HARMAN developers can now use PubNub’s easy to use data streaming APIs to quickly add reliable, low-latency realtime communication over wired, wireless and mobile IP networks using just a few lines of code. PubNub seamlessly navigates firewalls with strong security that includes encryption, access control and no open ports that can be attacked by hackers.
“PubNub has a proven track record of providing secure, reliable signaling for thousands of innovative mobile and IoT apps on the market today,” said Kevin Hague, vice president of Developer Community and Programs with HARMAN. “By partnering with PubNub, HARMAN developers can quickly build and deploy fast, interactive and secure functionality that benefits end users everywhere using any type of device.”
The first HARMAN product that leverages PubNub’s Data Stream Network is the JBL Pulse 2, released today with API and applications, which will be on display at the ONE HARMAN Showcase at CES. For further information about the HARMAN Developer Community, please: visit http://developer.harman.com.
