PULS Cardiac Test Hosts an Unforgettable OSCAR® Masquerade Ball to Celebrate “Unmasking” Hidden Causes of Heart Disease
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 25, 2015 -- The PULS Cardiac Test in collaboration with Women Network and MEMAH, hosted the Unmask Heart Disease 2015 OSCAR® Masquerade Ball on Sunday, February 22, 2015 in celebration of the 87th annual OSCARS® and American Heart Month. The sold-out, VIP-event campaign #UmaskHeartDisease, officially launched the new PULS Cardiac Test and also helped raise awareness and funding for nonprofits GUARDaHEART, Worthy Women Foundation and China California Heart Watch.
Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) remains the #1 cause of death and disability in the U.S., yet it is 80% preventable. Many individuals who appear “healthy” by current CHD detection methods, such as cholesterol testing, often go on to have a Heart Attack. In fact, 50% of Heart Attack victims have normal cholesterol. The Unmask Heart Disease Ball brought together celebrities, dignitaries and politicians for a formal “unmasking” of the leading cause of Heart Disease: unstable cardiac lesions.
“The most common cause of Heart Attacks is not narrowing of the arteries, it is the rupture of unstable cardiac lesions,” commented Dr. Douglas Harrington, Clinical Professor at USC Keck School of Medicine and Co-Founder of the PULS Cardiac Test. “We now have a chance to go beyond traditional testing to detect these unstable cardiac lesions at an early stage, to ultimately help prevent Heart Disease from progressing to the point of a Heart Attack.”
Lisa Hart, Host of TV Series Discover Orange County airing on Cox3 and PBS SoCal Plus, hosted the red-carpet interviews with the VIP guest list upon arrival. The evening’s feature presentation opened with a United States Marine Corps Color Guard with national anthem sung by Broadway performer, Ashley Cueller, who also gave a special performance later in the evening. Additional musical performances included KC Carnage, Juvahn Victoria, and a grand finale by American Idol Season 10 Top-5 Finalist, Jacob Lusk.
Additional collaborators for the Unmask Heart Disease 2015 OSCAR® Masquerade Ball included Bon Affair (featured on ABC’s Shark Tank), LA Talk Live Radio Show, FMN Capital, Orange County Produce, Tanaka Farms, Cookie Connection, OC Celebrity Smiles, BR Integrated Marketing, Tony Lattimore Photography, Aha Image Studios, Pixster Photo Booths, Fresh Ends, MK Collab, IPPA-MAX, UnderCover Menswear, Simone Davis Makeup Artist and Organo Gold Coffee.
