Pump Pal is an auto gadget invented to change the way British motorists refuel their vehicles.
Pump Pal was created as a simple gadget that keeps the refuelling nozzle engaged by taking pressure off your grip whilst at the pump. Pump Pal will stop dispensing fuel when the tank is full using the pump's auto shut off capability.
Pump Pal was invented because one of the founders experienced pain and discomfort refuelling on a very cold winter morning. Raising the question: "If I can’t do this easily, then who else can’t do it; surely there must be an easier way to refuel?"
During market research, the top issues that drivers were looking for help with when refuelling were: cold pumps, stiff pump triggers, dirty hands, hand mobility issues, large fuel tanks and poor grip to refuel. The majority of drivers surveyed expressed discomfort when refuelling a motor vehicle. Drivers in Britain from teens to silver surfers have taken to social media over the last few years to voice their complaints, saying what a chore filling their vehicle up with fuel was. Some females tweeted saying that they dreaded refuelling their vehicle(s) and often put it off or asked a partner to refuel.
In the Reuters study in October 2011, the results revealed that one of the top filthiest surfaces we encounter commuting to work was named as the fuel pump. Fuel pump handles topped the list revealing that the majority were found infected with the worst bacteria and viruses associated with causing illness.
Some of Pump Pal’s biggest sceptics who are now advocates admitted to years of using a variety of found objects to wedge open the fuel trigger.
