Pumpkin Picking Season Has Started at Parlee Farms
Tyngsboro, MA (PRWEB) October 06, 2015 -- Parlee Farms (http://parleefarms.com/) in Tyngsboro, MA offers pumpkin picking in its pumpkin patch throughout the month of October.
“Fall is a special time at Parlee Farms! In addition to pick your own pumpkins, we still have lots of delicious apples ready to be picked and plenty of fun attractions for the whole family to enjoy while visiting the farm,” said Ellen Parlee, owner of Parlee Farms.
Parlee Farms grows more than fourteen acres of pumpkins of all sizes and shapes, from mini-pumpkins to pumpkins topping the scales at over forty pounds. The fourteen acres produces over 40,000 pumpkins annually that are perfect for cooking, decorating, and carving a perfect jack-o-lantern.
After picking out the perfect pumpkin, visitors are encouraged to visit the apple orchard where mid and late season apples are still available. During weekends and on Columbus Day a hayride to the orchard is included in the price of an apple bag.
At the Farmstand visitors can watch homemade apple cider donuts being made. They were voted “Best Cider Donut in New England” by the viewers of New England Cable News. Warm apple crisp, hot cider, and other fall treats are also available for purchase at Mary’s Country Kitchen and can be enjoyed at one of the many picnic tables located on the premises.
Other activities visitors can enjoy at Parlee Farms include Annie’s Animal Barns, Farmer Mark’s Tractor Training Course, and the Hay Play Area. Annie’s Animal Barns includes two barns filled with young farm animals including baby goats, chickens, and bunnies to feed and pet. Farmer Mark’s Tractor Training Course is a children’s tractor ride that gives young visitors a chance to drive electric tractors around a track. The Hay Play Area is a space where children and families can weave through a maze of hay bales.
