Puritan Diagnostics Top-Selling Transport System Rebranded as Opti-Swab™
Guilford, ME (PRWEB) March 25, 2015 -- Puritan Diagnostics, a subsidiary of Puritan Medical Products Company LLC announced today that its popular Puritan liquid Amies medium and HydraFlock® swab will now be marketed under the new brand name Opti-Swab™. Our HydraFlock® swab requires no added fiber treatments to enhance collection and viability, unlike competitive products on the market today. The popular combination of superior proprietary patented flocked fiber design with optimized liquid Amies medium warrant the new Opti-Swab™ name.
The Opti-Swab™ brand now affords the end user rapid and easy product recognition. “Nothing about our liquid Amies transport system has changed,” says Executive VP Timothy Templet. “We want our customers to know that they can still expect the same levels of Puritan quality and consistency they’ve counted on since 1919.”
Opti-Swab™ Collection & Transport Systems are compatible with both manual and automated specimen processors available on the market today. Under its former name, "Puritan Liquid Amies Transport System,” Opti-Swab™ was independently confirmed by a complete validation study on Copan’s Wasp®: Walk-Away Specimen Processor (WASP). The comprehensive study and blog post regarding the validation of our Opti-Swab™ with Copan’s Wasp® describe how Puritan Liquid Amies Transport Systems were found to be compatible with most of the available automation platforms available today, and can be used as a viable and cost-effective alternative to Copan’s ESwab™.
In the next few weeks, our branding pertaining to our renamed liquid Amies transport systems will start to change. Once the old inventory has been exhausted, our media transport systems with the new Opti-Swab™label will start to ship. Should you order in bulk, you may even receive a shipment containing both Puritan Liquid Amies and Opti-Swab™ labels. Rest assured, aside from the label, the product is exactly the same and does not require additional or re-validation.
