Quadrant2Design make a donation to Dorset Advocacy
(PRWEB UK) 25 February 2015 -- Dorset Advocacy provide invaluable support and advocacy to those in need of help within the communities of Dorset, Poole and Bournemouth.
Helping people to get the health and social care support that they need, Dorset Advocacy are a forward thinking organisation that has come a long way since its start in 1992. The organisation now has a range of schemes, including people who are applying for Continuing Healthcare funding and help for anyone who wishes to complain about their treatment by the NHS.
Founded during a period when long-stay hospitals for people with learning disabilities were closing down, Dorset Advocacy believed that institutionalised care was outdated and that community-based care, delivered in a person-centred way, was a far more beneficial model.
Today, Dorset Advocacy, who are based in Dorchester, support around 2000 people at any one time and a team of 30 members of staff, with 60 volunteers assisting as well. The charity provides Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) in Dorset, has been awarded the Quality Performance Mark by Action for Advocacy and widely promote the services of the organisation at events throughout the county.
To help with the promotion of the organisation, the charity has been given 5 banner stands by the Poole based exhibition stand company, Quadrant2Design. These brightly coloured and informative exhibition banners will allow the charity to attend multiple events, all across the county, at a time and make everyone aware of the wonderful work that the organisation do.
