In fact, Iowa, which is one of the nation’s leading producers in pork products, has reported 5.46 million baby pigs being born just between this June and August.
Pig farmers are being cautious about potential outbreaks, but are confident that even if it were to return, it would be nowhere near as severe as it’s first go around and that they would be able to eradicate it much more quickly.
