Quick Bridge Funding Adopts Three Families for the Holidays
Orange, Calif. (PRWEB) January 14, 2015 -- Quick Bridge Funding, a privately-held financial services firm, partnered with nonprofit You Are Special (YAS) food pantry to adopt three families in the community for its first annual holiday toy and dinner drive. Quick Bridge Funding’s 76 employees pooled their resources to make the holidays special for local Orange families—with gift wrapped toys and complete holiday meal prepared by a local Albertsons grocery store.
Human Resources Manager, Alanna Schorr Cole, reached out to nonprofit You Are Special to identify families in need for the company’s first annual holiday toy and dinner drive. Three families were selected by YAS. They were chosen based on personal letters received from incarcerated fathers. The men explained why their family should be selected. In all, three moms and seven children from ages five through 17 enjoyed opening gifts and shared a full holiday meal together.
The entire company had the opportunity to participate in donating toys over a two-week period. Representatives from You Are Special dropped off a large bin for the gift wrapped donations. Employees were given the ages of the children and details regarding their clothing sizes and special needs. Items were labeled by family name and included socks, t-shirts, pants, balls, books, arts and crafts, games, gift cards and more.
Six Quick Bridge Funding “Santa” volunteers delivered the gifts to the three families for Christmas morning. The full holiday dinners including turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, vegetables, rolls, and pie were picked up from Albertsons and delivered to the families on Christmas day.
You Are Special is a local nonprofit devoted to feeding the hungry in the Orange community. According to its website, it serves with compassion, dignity and love. YAS does not charge any fee of any kind for anything. It is not supported by government grants. The pantry collects food and gives it to the person in hand. YAS finances are well documented and the organization is included on Guidestar and OneOC.
“The timing was right for our first annual holiday drive,” said Quick Bridge Funding President, Ben Gold. “As we continue to grow, we feel it’s very important for us to give back to our community. YAS gave us an opportunity to funnel our charitable energies to benefit three local families. Our commitment to the drive also gave us a way to come together as a group to do something positive for others.”
