Quick-Thinking Young Jeweller, Maria Allen Shows Why She’s a Start-Up Loan Ambassador
(PRWEB UK) 24 November 2013 -- It’s not very often you see a UK Prime Minister flashing his assets, but in the spirit of Commonwealth good relations, here’s David Cameron showing off the Kiwi-adorned cufflinks he had agreed to wear if England lost to the All Blacks in their recent battle.
The twist in this tale is that the cufflinks were handcrafted on a whim by British jeweller Maria Allen after she saw Cameron’s tweeted bet to NZ PM John Key.
In just a few days Maria and her team had two pairs of cufflinks – one set with the Union Jack, the other with a Kiwi bird – dispatched to Downing Street.
Seeing opportunity where no-one else does is the true gift of the entrepreneur. This latest action on the part of Maria Allen shows why she is an ambassador for the government’s Start-Up Loan scheme.
To seal the deal, the cufflinks were made from reclaimed wood from a copper beech tree that used to be in Sir Winston Churchill's Chartwell estate. The sterling silver cufflink settings are also made in the UK. How could Cameron refuse to wear cufflinks of such impeccable heritage? http://tinyurl.com/nm6uln7
The Union Jack cufflinks will be kept on standby for the UK PM to send to his NZ counterpart the next time England beat the All Blacks.
