Quorum Client Hospitals Earn Recognition Among The Joint Commission's Top Performer on Key Quality Measures® Program

(PRWEB) December 08, 2015 -- Eight Quorum client hospitals named as The Joint Commission 2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures®: Fort Madison Community Hospital (Fort Madison, IA), Jackson Hospital (Marianna, FL), Lane Regional Medical Center (Zachary, LA), (Newberry County Hospital (Newberry, SC), Northern Hospital of Surry County (Mount Airy, NC), Northwestern Medical Center (St. Albans, VT), Oconee Regional Medical Center (Milledgeville, GA) and Valley View Hospital (Glenwood Springs, CO). The Top Performer on Key Quality Measures list was part of The Joint Commission’s 2015 annual report, “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety.”

The Joint Commission’s report summarizes performance data collected during 2014 on 49 accountability measures of care in 12 measure sets. To be a 2014 Top Performer, hospitals had to meet three performance criteria based on 2014 accountability measure data, including:
• Achieve cumulative performance of 95 percent or above across all reported accountability measures;
• Achieve performance of 95 percent or above on each and every reported accountability measure with at least 30 denominator cases;
• Have at least one core measure set that had a composite rate of 95 percent or above, and within that measure set, achieve a performance rate of 95 percent or above on all applicable individual accountability measures.
Quorum client hospitals were recognized for excellence in accountability measure performance for the following measure sets:
• Fort Madison Community Hospital (Fort Madison, IA): Pneumonia, Surgical Care, Venous thromboembolism (VTE), Immunization
• Jackson Hospital (Marianna, FL): Heart Failure, Pneumonia, Surgical Care, Immunization, Perinatal Care
• Lane Regional Medical Center (Zachary, LA): Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Pneumonia, Surgical Care, Perinatal Care
• Lawrence Memorial Hospital (Lawrenceville, IL): Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Pneumonia, Surgical Care, VTE
• Newberry County Hospital (Newberry, SC): Pneumonia, Surgical Care, VTE, Immunization
• Northern Hospital of Surry County (Mount Airy, NC): Pneumonia, Surgical Care, VTE
• Northwestern Medical Center (St. Albans, VT): Pneumonia, Surgical Care, VTE
• Oconee Regional Medical Center (Milledgeville, GA): Heart Failure, Pneumonia, Surgical Care, Immunization
• Valley View Hospital (Glenwood Springs, CO): Heart Attack, Surgical Care and Perinatal Care
Nearly one-third of TJC-accredited hospitals—31.5 percent—responded to the quality improvement challenge by earning recognition by the Top Performer on Key Quality Measures program.
