R.A. Guinner Plumbing Co. to Encourage Donating to Charity on St. Louis Day of Giving
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) April 23, 2015 -- On Tuesday, May 5, R.A. Guinner Plumbing Co. will be participating in St. Louis' annual Give STL Day, a 24-hour event that seeks to raise awareness and funds for more than 790 local nonprofit charities.
Jessica Kauffels, Vice President, says R.A. Guinner Plumbing Co. plans to participate in the online day of giving to raise awareness for Sunday Night Lights, the charity the plumbing company sponsors.
Sunday Night Lights, a charity that helps patients diagnosed with cancer and other terminal illnesses, was founded in 2010 after Kauffels' son's classmate passed away from cancer. This is the first year that Sunday Night Lights will be a charity to which people can donate during Give STL Day.
"The charity gives patients a chance to reenact a 'Friday Night Lights'-style high school football game," Kauffels explains. "These Sunday Night Lights games take place at the Lindbergh High School in St. Louis."
Kauffels says anyone can make a donation to Sunday Night Lights -- or any participating charity -- via the Give STL Day website, http://www.givestlday.org. All Give STL Day proceeds go directly to the specific charity each individual or business chooses.
"We will also be posting the St. Louis Day of Giving website on our brand-new Facebook page in order for customers to get the chance to donate to charities as well," she says. "The company will also being reaching out via individual contact to get people to think about making a donation."
Give STL Day is an event that gives every member of the St. Louis community the opportunity to make positive change in their city, Kauffels says. Because of this, R.A. Guinner Plumbing Co., a plumbing services company that has been in business since 1925 and is still located in its original location, sees Give STL Day as the perfect opportunity to better the surrounding community.
"We love supporting anything local and we’re happy to be promoting and donating to charities around the area," she says. "We are hoping that supporting the St. Louis Day of Giving will encourage others to look within the community and participate in local events that help others out, whether it be a school, a charity or a business."
